Activity For Moms Night Out #1: A Trip Down Memory Lane
During your high school and/or college years there was probably a designated place where you went to meet up with your friends. Maybe it was the local dance club, the drive-in movie theater, or the diner in your neighborhood where you could order your favorite milkshake flavor along with a burger and a big plate of fries.
But now that you have a family, it has probably been difficult to get back to that favorite spot to re-live the good times from your past.
Yet, now you can do just that if it’s up to you to think of the next moms night out idea for the ladies of your group.
Whether it’s the local dance club, the drive-in movie theater, or the diner where you used to get your favorite milkshake flavor, you can’t go wrong when trying to recapture your blast from the past.
And what if the moms who are your friends now didn’t know you during high school or college?
Not to worry, because this actually makes it more entertaining for everyone, i.e. the moms night hostess is able to share something special while everyone else gets to know another side of her not based on her life as a mother!
Moms Night Out Idea #2: Satisfying The Appetites Of Your Family
Cookbooks are both beautiful and full of useful tips for the home chef.
But who has the time to read them from start to finish, especially when you’re a mom spending so many hours at work or with your family?
The truth is, many moms don’t have those extra hours during the day – which makes it more challenging to come up with something new for dinner.
Not anymore though!
With a little careful research you can find a cooking class in your area, one that focuses on a certain cuisine or recipe which all your friends would love learning to make for their loved ones.
Once the class is over, you then get to go home and cook your new recipes for the family.
You can even add a twist to the plan by choosing a designated night where each mom has to make the cooking class meal for her family. And while preparing the food, the moms must also take pictures of their creations so the photos can be passed around at the next moms night event.
And, don’t forget to ask for your family’s critiques on your dish so you can then share those opinions with the other moms!
Moms Night Out Plan #3: Take Your Stress Out On A Soccer Ball
Since you have become a parent, it has probably been challenging to try and fit both working out and spending time with your mom friends into your hectic schedule.
If this is the case, then you and your group are the perfect candidates for this next moms night idea.
A majority of your friends most likely have their children participating on sports teams after school and on the weekends. But, your kids are not the only ones who should get to have fun with team athletics!
Those moms who are looking for an unusual way to simultaneously blast calories and burn off stress can do so by organizing a soccer game on a local field. Soccer is great exercise, and good for some laughs too as you see how talented (or not!) your friends are with the ball!
And if you want to put a slightly competitive edge to it, you can always make a wager that says the team who loses has to cook dinner for the winning team during a future moms night together!
Moms Night Idea #4: There’s Nothing Like Being A Kid Again!
If not, it’s time to plan a moms night out at your local game zone!
Arcades can sometimes be even more entertaining for the adults than the kids – making them a great place to have some fun for a few hours wit your friends.
Stage a round of skee ball and award your own kind of prize for the champion; challenge one of your friends to an air hockey match; take turns working up a sweat with an energetic game such as ‘Dance Dance Revolution;’ or go on one of the rides like the merry-go-round to see just why it is that kids love places like this.
As an added bonus, those moms who have children with birthdays coming up can use the time to see whether the arcade would be a good place to celebrate.
Moms Night Idea #5: The Home Improvement Project
I was wandering through Home Depot the other day, and I came to following realization: the place is not just for guys!
In a small corner of the store I saw a group of employees holding a flower arranging class, using different colored roses to form unique bouquets.
As I watched the action, I caught sight of a cardboard sign listing the classes taking place in the upcoming days.
And they sounded great, such as learning how to build a toy box next week and sandbox making details the week after that.
Then it hit me.
Taking one of these classes would be a great activity for a moms night out!
After the class, the moms could then bring their new skills home and re-create what they learned with the family’s help.
For those who don’t have a Home Depot in their area, you can always try Lowe’s or your local parks and recreation center to find a class.
