Strawberries have always been my favorite fruit.
Whether they are bought from the market or freshly picked from the garden, I just can’t get enough of them.
And to prove my point, I am typing this sentence with only one hand – as there is a spoon in my other hand, ready and waiting to be plunged into a freshly packed quart of strawberry frozen yogurt…
When I was in preschool, my parents always knew where to find me if I wasn’t on the playground at the end of the day.
My dad has told me that the first place they would look for me was in the field right behind the school – because this was where a big patch of strawberries grew.
And it never failed as I consistently wandered over there to plop down on my diapered butt in the warm sunlight, stuffing my face to my heart’s content.
As I grew older, Sundays became the most special day of the week. This was the day my dad made a very early shopping trip to pick up ingredients for breakfast.
I knew that when I hopped out of bed, a big bowl of freshly washed strawberries would be waiting at the table. And they were all for me!
When I first began dating my husband Alexander, I decided to make us a batch of chocolate dipped strawberries to share…are you surprised?
So it might seem natural that I should write a blog about my favorite fruit.
But, cooking and writing are not the only things that I love to do.
On any given day you might find me putting together scrapbooks; watching TV shows such as “Dr. Phil” or “Master Chef”; and practicing piano or guitar.
I went to a famous high school, so you may hear several stories in the future about what that was like.
After high school I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and my paralegal certification a little while later.
I have spent a lot of time working in the law, giving me even more interesting stories I plan to share with you.
Otherwise, I am the average person who enjoys hanging out with her husband, friends, and family.
